SUCCESSFUL OPENING

On January 7th, 2011, the photography show FEELINGS IN MOTION was inagurated at Galería Manuel Chacón in San Miguel de Allende. The photographs are part of the expression in which alTirado have been working recently. It start with the idea of experimenting the space who lays between the still image in photography and the moving image produced by the secuence of still frames of the cinematography. "In these images of still photography - says alTirado - I want to express the continuity of life. Life is a continuos secuence. The instant that appears in a traditional photo, is follow for another instant, and another, and this period of time is full of feelings. The "horses" on the carrusel are rigid objects made of wood with no feelings, but in our mind, they are pure joy, they run in circles with music, shiny lights and children laughter. This is what I intend to catch, the movement on those feelings. The same with the Flamenco Dancer or the woman's body who emanate beauty and sensuality."

Galería Manuel Chacón is located in Fabrica La Aurora, the most prestigious art center in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. México.

LA INAGURACIÓN FUE UN ÉXITO

El 7 de enero, 2011, la muestra fotográfica SENTIMIENTOS EN MOVIMIENTO fue inagurada en la Galería Manuel Chacón de San Miguel de Allende. Las imágenes son la expresión fotográfica que ha tenido especial interés para alTirado en los años recientes. Partió con la idea de experimentar el espacio que queda entre la imagen fija de la fotografía y la imágen en movimiento del cine o del video. "Quiero expresar en mis imágenes de fotografía fija - dice alTirado - que la vida tiene continuidad, que no se detiene, que a un instante que aparece en una foto tradicional, le sigue otro instante y otro, y que ese lapso de tiempo transcurrido esta lleno de sentimientos. Los "caballitos" del carrusel son figuras rígidas de madera, son insensibles, pero en la mente de todos nosotros, son alegría, son giros contínuos con música, luces y risas de niños. Eso es lo que quiero captar, el movimiento y los sentimientos. Igual que en la bailarina de flamenco o en el torso de una mujer que irradia belleza y sensualidad."

La Dama del Silencio

La novela La Dama del Silencio, ha estado teniendo magnífica aceptación a partir de su presentación en el Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramirez 'El Nigromante' de San Miguel de Allende, el pasado 27 de Noviembre.

With the best wishes for a wonderful year 2010, we'll have the publication of ARTE EN SAN MIGUEL Volume II. with a collection of thirty artist of different styles and perspectives. From the pure realistic style to the most advance surrealism. We are featuring also expressions of sculpture, jewerly and assamblages of diverse materials.
This collective book of one hundred and forty pages with interesting portraits of the artist and some of their latest works. All presented in alTirado's photography.

The book is scheduled to be presented on March 2010 in Galería La Pergola located in the Instituto Allende, one of the land marks, artistic and historical, of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.














Galería La Pergola and its magnificent view to the Parroquia, will be the escenario for this presentation.ARTE EN SAN MIGUEL, Volume II (Art in San MIguel) will be presented along with an interesting exhibition with works of the artists included in this edition. Which means a unique show because of the number of artists and their artistic quality.

Con los mejores deseos para el Año 2010, presentaremos el libro ARTE EN SAN MIGUEL Volúmen II. Invitamos a visitar website con la colección de 30 artistas de diferentes estilos y perspectivas. Desde el más puro estilo realistico hasta el avanzado surrealismo. Estamos también presentando a joyeros, escultores y creativos de ensamblaje.
Este libro de colección contiene 140 páginas con interesantes retratos de los artistas y algunos de sus más recientes trabajos. Todo en la artística fotografía de alTirado.
El libro esta programado para ser presentado en el mes de Marzo en la Galería La Pérgola que esta situada en el Instituto Allende, uno de los sitios de mayor importancia histórica y artística de San Miguel de Allende, México.
La Galería La Pérgola con su fantástica vista hacia La Parroquia, será el escenario para este evento.
ARTE EN SAN MIGUEL Volúmen II, será presentado junto con una exposición de trabajos de los artistas contenidos en el libro. Esto significa una exposición de carácter único, no sólo por el número de artistas como por su calidad artística.

Who is alTirado?

During my early youth I wanted to be a writer. Instead I became a photographer since I was young until I got to do it professionally. Still as a photojournalist I continued for many years writing for different medias and that was my way to be a writer, but not the kind I was dreaming of. A couple of novels got lost along the road. I have self published a book with short stories, Un Poeta al Paredón. Several of those stories were published in Mexican magazines. After living here and there, and traveling many places in the world in one way or another, after 20 years of being out of Mexico I decided to come back to my country and move on with a new life, new ideas and perspectives. Coming to San Miguel Allende, Mexico made possible all of that. Now I have published one book with my first photographic impressions of San Miguel. Another book with a collection of thirty three artists, painters, sculptors and ceramicists, was published at the beginning of 2009. Both of them will have a second edition in March 2010. But my recent accomplishment is the publication of my first novel, LA DAMA DEL SILENCIO. A fictional biography of a woman born in 1900, and lived through the horrors of the Mexican Revolution while struggling to find love and happiness. La Dama del Silencio was presented in February 2010, in the Bellas Artes Center of San Miguel de Allende, as part of the celebration of the Mexican Revolution 100 years anniversary.

¿Quién es alTirado?
Creo que desde mi temprana juventud yo quería ser escritor. Sin embargo me hice fotógrafo desde joven hasta que más tarde me convertí en profesional. Aun así, como periodista gráfico, continué escribiendo para diferentes medios por muchos años y eso me daba satisfacciones aunque no fuera la clase de escritura con la que yo soñaba, pero estaba tratando y un par de novelas se perdieron en el camino. Yo mismo me publique un libro de cuentos cortos, Un Poeta al Paredón. Varios de estos cuentos fueron publicados en revistas mexicanas.Después de llevar la vida por aquí y por allá y de haber viajado a muchos lugares en el mundo en una forma, después de haber estado 20 años fuera de México, me encontré con que ya era el momento de regresar a mi país y seguir adelante con una vida nueva, con ideas y perspectivas nuevas. El haber venido a vivir a San Miguel Allende lo ha hecho posible. Ahora tengo publicados un libro con fotografías de San Miguel y un libro con la colección de 33 artistas, pintores, escultores y ceramistas de San Miguel. Los dos títulos saldrán en su 2a. edición en Marzo 2009. Pero mi logro más satisfactorio es el de la publicación de mi primera novela, LA DAMA DEL SILENCIO. Una biografía ficticia de una mujer que nació con el siglo, en 1900 y creció durante los horrores de la Revolución Mexicana mientras buecaba como huerfana el amor y la felicidad. La Dama del Silencio se presentó en Febrero de 2010 en el Centro Cultural Bellas Artes de San Miguel de Allende, uniendose a los festejos del Centenario de la Revolución Mexicana.
